Easy Beef Flanken Rib Marinade (Tender, Flavorful & Grill-Ready)

If you’re looking for an easy grilled dinner that feels a little more exciting—but is still simple and family-friendly—this short rib marinade is it.

This easy short rib marinade is perfect for meal prep. I like to make it ahead of time, toss the ribs in the freezer, and pull them out when we need a no-stress dinner. It saved me on a recent camping trip—we grilled these up with my extended family, and they were gone fast. (Everyone wanted seconds).

Easiest Make Ahead Beef Flanken Rib Marinade

Ingredients

  • 2lbs flanken style beef short ribs
  • 1&1/2 cups soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup cooking sherry
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/3 cup sugar of choice (brown sugar or sugar alternative)
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp onion powder or slice up a medium onion
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger or scant 1/4 tsp ground ginger

Directions

  1. In a marinade container of choice, mix all the ingredients. Ensure meat is fully submerged and coated.
  2. Marinade for 2 hours or overnight in the refrigerator. It can also be prepared and frozen for an easy future meal.
  3. Remove ribs from marinade and grill to your liking and enjoy!
